Our Kindergarten program gives students the opportunity to grow and develop through play — the way children learn best. Students will expand their love of learning, build knowledge, develop their ability to get along with others, explore ways of reaching out to the world and create a strong foundation for reading, writing and communication. In order to meet their spiritual needs, Kindergarten students will also receive instruction in Arabic reading and writing, memorization of Qur’anic surahs, Islamic character and detailed instruction on the pillars of Islam.

First Grade is an exciting time in the life of young children as they begin to make great strides in social and academic areas. Our program gives students an opportunity to further develop essential skills in math, literacy, science, social studies and computer sciences. Our program is designed to take students from having beginner reading and writing skills to becoming beginning readers and writers, as they read and write more with greater comprehension and ability. In order to meet their spiritual needs, first grade students will receive instruction in Arabic reading, writing and speaking, memorization of Qur’anic surahs, Islamic character and the foundations of Islam.

Second grade is a year of exploration and discovery for many students. Our program seeks to meet the growing skills of developing learners. Students will participate in learning activities and lessons that will increase their knowledge. Language Arts and Math are the main areas of instruction, through which Art, Science, Technology, and Social Studies topics will be taught. Students will be working in groups as well as individually. Their relationship to the classroom, school, family and community will be explored and expanded. Questioning skills, research skills and drawing conclusions are the mechanisms used to increase knowledge. Learning to discipline their thoughts and actions will enhance the classroom environment and allow their thinking to be challenged and foster their creativity. In order to address their spiritual needs students will also learn Islamic character education, Arabic reading, writing, and speaking, memorization of Qur’anic surahs, and the foundations of Islam and Iman.

Third grade is an important transition year in the educational development of students as this age group starts to think more analytically. Our third grade program encourages students to improve their analytical skills by taking a hands-on approach to learning new material. They are introduced to multiplication and division, life cycles and ecosystems, communities around the world and the five stages of the writing process. In order to meet the spiritual needs of our third grade students, they will also learn Arabic reading, writing, grammar, and speaking, memorization of Qur’anic surahs, Islamic character education, the foundations of Islam and Iman and lives of the Sahabah.

Fourth grade students start to become more sophisticated learners and often seek more challenge in their thinking and reasoning. Our program is formulated to help students explore more sophisticated topics using fundamental skills in reading, writing, algebraic thinking and science discovery. Students will explore the history of the United States, investigate forms of energy, and apply basic math operations to fractions and decimals. In order to meet the spiritual needs of our fourth grade students they will also learn Arabic reading, writing, grammar and speaking, memorization of Qur’anic surahs, Islamic character development, foundations of Islam, Iman, and Ihsan and the lives of the Sahabah and Rightly Guided Caliphs.

Fifth grade students are more critical thinkers. Our program encourages students to think about learning in new ways. Students in fifth grade classes refine their knowledge of grammar and structure, writing a variety of texts, math operations, physical and life science, technological applications, and United States history.  In order to meet the spiritual needs of our fifth grade students they will also learn Arabic reading, writing, grammar, and speaking, memorization of Qur’anic surahs, tajweed sciences, Islamic character development, foundations of Islam, Iman, Ihsan and Islamic history.
